Cangkok payudara bermasalah di Prancis

Cangkok payudara yang bocor menimbulkan kekhawatiran di Prancis.

Pihak berwenang Prancis akan meminta sekitar 30.000 perempuan yang kemungkinan memiliki cangkok payudara bermasalah untuk melepaskannya, lapor media Prancis.

Surat khabar Liberation melaporkan ada dugaan payudara silikon dari Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) berpotensi menimbulkan risiko kesehatan.

"Kita harus melepas semua cangkok payudara ini," kata Dr Laurent Lantieri, ahli bedah plastik yang duduk di komite khusus menangangi kasus ini.
"Kita menghadapi krisis kesehatan yang terkait dengan penipuan," tambahnya kepada surat kabar Liberation.
Tahun lalu Poly Implant Prothese didapati telah menggunakan gel silokon tidak sah yang menyebabkan kebocoran. Tingkat kebocoran pada cangkok payudara PIP tercatat tinggi.
Menyusul penemuan kasus-kasus kebocoran, pemerintah Prancis membentuk komisi khusus untuk mengkaji masalah tersebut.
Juru bicara pemerintah Valerie Pecresse mengatakan kepada televisi Prancis bahwa pemerintah akan mengumumkan rencana aksi pekan ini.
"Semua perempuan yang pernah menjalani cangkok payudara produk PIP harus segera berkonsultasi dengan ahli bedah mereka," kata Pecresse.

Penyelidikan yang dilakukan oleh Masyarakat Ahli Bedah Plastik Prancis tahun lalu menemukan bahwa cangkok payudara PIP mempunyai tingkat kebocoran lebih tinggi dibandingkan cangkok-cangkok lain.
Selain itu mereka juga menemukan bahwa silikon yang digunakan pada cangkok tersebut seharusnya tidak digunakan untuk keperluan medis.
Tahun lalu PIP mengalami kesulitan keuangan dan pada tahun yang sama pihak berwenang juga melarang penggunaan cangkok PIP.
Kepolisian Prancis telah menerima sekitar 2.000 pengaduan dari para perempuan yang mempunyai cangkok payudara. Menurut kantor berita AFP, kepolisian juga melakukan penyelidikan terhadap perusahaan.
Sejak ditemukan kerusakan, sebanyak 523 cangkok payudara telah dilepas, lapor surat kabar Le Monde.
Sejauh ini terdapat delapan kasus kanker ditemukan pada pasien yang menjalani cangkok payudara PIP. Direktur Jenderal Kesehatan Prancis Jean-Yves Grall mengatakan pasien kesembilan meninggal dunia tahun lalu.
Grall mengatakan semua biaya untuk melepaskan cangkok payudara akan diganti namun belum jelas apakah penggantian biaya cukup mencakup biaya cangkok baru.

Investigations conducted by the French Society of Plastic Surgeons last year found that PIP breast implant has a higher leak rate than other graft - graft .
