seluruh dunia meroket tahun lalu, menembus angka 195,4 juta unit atau
naik 68% dibandingkan tahun 2012.
Data yang dikumpulkan perusahaan riset pasar
Gartner menunjukkan Apple berhasil menjual 70,4 juta unit iPad atau naik
sembilan juta.
Namun penjualan terbesar dicatat
oleh berbagai merek tablet yang memakai sistem operasi Android, yang
mengalami laju peningkatan dari 45,8% menjadi 61,9% sepanjang 2013.
"Selama 2013 komputer tablet menjadi semacam arus utama. Tablet Android menyediakan banyak pilihan dari yang paling murah hingga unit dengan spesifikasi canggih," kata Roberta Cozza, direktur riset Gartner.
Untuk pasar tablet canggih Apple masih menguasai, namun pasar di negara-negara dengan perekonomian yang tengah berkembang pesat dikuasai tablet Android, kata Gartner.
Cozza mengatakan Apple masih unggul antara lain karena menyediakan ekosistem musik, game, film, dan konten digital lain yang menyeluruh dan lebih baik dibandingkan ekosistem sejenis di Android atau sistem operasi lain.
Untuk merek, Apple masih tak tergoyahkan di pasar tablet ini, disusul Samsung yang berhasil menjual 37,4 juta unit.
Microsoft yang mengusung sistem operasi Windows menjual empat juta unit, jauh di bawah Apple dan Samsung.
