Nasutoceratops memiliki tanduk panjang dan hidung besar.
Sebuah spesies baru dinosaurus yang bentuknya tidak lazim telah digali dari gurun di Utah, AS, demikian penjelasan para ilmuwan.
Fosil dinosaurus sepanjang lima meter ini
merupakan anggota keluarga Triceratops, tapi dengan hidung besar dan
tanduk sangat panjang, yang menurut ahli paleontologis, belum pernah
dilihat sebelumnya.Penelitian ini telah dipublikasikan dalam The Proceedings of the Royal Society B.
Dr Mark Loewen, dari University of Utah and Natural History Museum of Utah mengatakan kepada BBC: "Kami tidak akan pernah memperkirakan bentuknya seperti ini. Ini betul-betul di luar kelaziman kelompok dinosaurus."
Fosil ini pertama kali ditemukan pada 2006 di sebuah gurun di wilayah Utah, AS, namun membutuhkan sekian tahun untuk mempelajarinya secara lebih terperinci.

Penampilan fisik Nasutoceratops, yang memiliki berat sekitar 2,5 ton, terlihat menakutkan, namun menurut para ahli, semua anggota keluarga triceratops termasuk jenis herbivora.
