Pengadilan memerintahkan agar perempuan bisa membeli pil ini tanpa resep

Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan AS (FDA) menyetujui pi kontrasepsi dijual bebas untuk perempuan berusia 15 tahun ke atas.

Pil bernama Plan B ini adalah jenis yang bisa diminum sesudah hubungan seks terjadi atau lazim disebut "morning-after pill".

Kontrasepsi semacam ini cukup populer di Amerika Serikat karena tidak memerlukan pemasangan alat tertentu atau injeksi hormon.
Mulai hari ini, semua perempuan yang ingin membeli obat ini di AS hanya hanya perlu menunjukkan bukti bahwa mereka telah mencapai batas usia minumum yang disyaratkan.
Keputusan ini diambil satu bulan setelah seorang hakim memerintahkan agar obat tersebut bisa dibeli oleh perempuan dari segala usia, selama mereka "sudah bisa hamil".
FDA mengatakan keputusan itu bukanlah respon terhadap keputusan pengadilan.
Kelompok-kelompok hak reproduksi memuji langkah FDA.
Sebelumnya pengadilan AS mengkritik pemerintah karena menetapkan usia minimal 17 tahun untuk membeli pil kontrasepsi itu.
Pada 2011, FDA mengumumkan bahwa pil tersebut aman dikonsumsi oleh perempuan yang telah mengalami siklus menstruasi.
Namun Menteri Kesehatan Kathleen Sebelius membatalkan klaim FDA sehingga pemerintahan Obama saat itu dituduh "tunduk pada tekanan dari kaum konservatif".

Agency U.S. Food and Drug Administration ( FDA ) approved the contraceptive pi -counter to women aged 15 years and over .
Pill called Plan B is a type that can be taken after sexual intercourse occurs or commonly called "morning - after pill " .
This kind of contraception is quite popular in the United States because it does not require the installation of a particular tool or hormone injections .
Starting today , all women who want to buy these drugs in the U.S. just simply need to show proof that they have reached the required age limit minumum .
This decision was taken one month after a judge ordered that the drug can be bought by women of all ages , as long as they " are able to get pregnant " .
The FDA said the decision was not a response to the court decision .
Reproductive rights groups praised the FDA move .
Previous U.S. court criticized the government for setting a minimum age of 17 years to buy the contraceptive pill .
In 2011 , the FDA announced that the pill is safe for consumption by women who have experienced a menstrual cycle .
But Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius cancel the FDA claims that the Obama administration when it was accused of " bowing to pressure from conservatives " .
