Penjualan ponsel Samsung lebih banyak ketimbang Apple.

Samsung menjadi perusahaan telepon seluler paling menguntungkan di dunia mengambil alih posisi Apple, demikian hasil riset perusahaan Strategy Analytics.

Dalam laporannya Strategy Analytics menyebutkan divisi telepon seluler Samsung mencatat keuntungan operasi sebesar US$5,2 miliar di kuartal kedua tahun 2013.

Sementara keuntungan Apple diperkirakan mencapai US$4,6 miliar, menyusul "kinerja menurun" iPhone.
Secara total, penjualan telepon seluler mencapai 386 juta di periode April hingga Juni, atau naik 4% pada periode yang sama tahun lalu.
Secara keseluruhan, 27,7% telepon yang terjual dikuasai oleh Samsung.
"Ini adalah pertumbuhan industri telepon seluler tercepat sejak kuartal kedua 2012," kata Neil Shah, analis senior Strategy Analytics.

"Penjualan iPhone saat ini turun dan Apple beresiko untuk terjebak dalam kebijakan persaingan dengan model Android murah ukuran 3 inci dan model Android mahal di ukuran 5 inci," kata Neil Mawston, direktur eksekutif Strategy Analytics.
Dia menambahkan bahwa margin keuntungan Apple di telepon seluler menjadi turun karena penjualan iPhone 5 yang "loyo" dan kompetisi yang lebih kuat dari pesaingnya.
